Nassan’s Place Happenings!

So I have posted about Nassan’s Place before, and they continue to do some amazing work for our parents of kids with special needs. With Autism Awareness month coming VERY shortly (it’s April, if you don’t know this already), Nassan’s Place has a bunch of amazing workshops, meetings, and events for everyone’s benefit.

March 25th –  3rd Annual Autism support Group Retreat in conjunction with Mount Carmel Guild Academy.

  • In West Orange, parents and professionals who work with kids with special needs can come together and learn best practices to support themselves and their families. There will be workshops and networking opportunities, perfect for everyone in need of assistance in this path of learning. To register and find more information on the retreat, click here.

April 8th– Sensory Friendly Movie Day: Smurfs: The Lost Village

  • At CityPlex12 in Newark, NJ from 10AM-12PM. For more information, click here.

April 20th – Sensory Friendly Skate Day Skating for Autism

  • At Branch Brook Park in Newark, children will be able to roller skate with loved ones. The price is $15, which includes skates, food, face painting, giveaways, and more! For more information on this fun night, click here.

April 17th – June 21st – Autistic Friendly After-School Program in conjunction with the East Orange Recreational & Cultural Dept.

  • Structured 3 hour sessions with professionals that include homework help, sensory-friendly activities, and snacks. For more information, please check it out here.

April 22nd – 4th Annual Nassan 5K Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Elmwood Park in East Orange, NJ.

  • This is to benefit Nassan’s Place and their amazing work. Please consider donating, volunteering, and/or walking in the 5K, click here!
